Professor Craig Mahoney
Education Leader and Performance Psychology Expert
Education Leader and Performance Psychology Expert Professor Craig Mahoney brings extensive experience in higher education leadership and a strong academic background to his current role as CEO of Parlo, an innovative English language learning app developed by The Education Group (TEG) London. Prior to July 2022, he served as Vice-Chancellor for nine years, leading both the University of the West of Scotland and the University of Law. A passionate advocate for accessible and innovative education, Professor Mahoney is actively engaged in research. He holds a distinguished career as a chartered psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS), specializing in performance psychology for over 30 years. Professor Mahoney’s expertise extends beyond his core field, evidenced by his fellowships with the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), the British Association of Sport & Exercise Sciences (FBASES), and the Institute of Directors (FIoD). He recently concluded his term as Chair of British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) and currently chairs the Brooklands FE College Board and GoGreen Routes, an EU-funded climate project.
Ben Peters
Head of Marketing
With close to a decade of igniting growth across innovative EdTech apps, Ben brings a wealth of experience to his role as Head of Marketing at Parlo London. Consistently spearheading marketing initiatives that soar above expectations, and fueled by a passion for driving success in dynamic environments. Prior to joining Parlo, Ben honed his expertise at a number of EdTech startups and scale ups including Memrise and Paired.
This extensive experience in the thriving EdTech sector allows Ben to offer a unique perspective and deep understanding of user needs to Parlo’s marketing efforts. With this knowledge, he is poised to fuel Parlo’s continued success and become a champion for growth in the education landscape.
Caroline Everard

Caroline is an Edtech specialist and a curriculum designer who has worked in learning and digital products for over 10 years. The tools that she’s designed have supported all types of learners, from children learning phonics to engineers taking professional qualifications. She is also an accomplished linguist with a degree in modern languages from University College London.
