Meet Charlie
Charlie is our English teacher. He has always been very interested in the way we communicate. After studying linguistics at university, he spent twenty years traveling worldwide as a filmmaker, picking up languages and musical obsessions.
He speaks six languages fluently (and bits of many more) and loves to find easy ways to explain complicated things. He lives in London with his partner, two children, and two cats and listens to Arlindo Cruz daily.

What is Parlo?
Parlo is an app that teaches people to speak British English through a series of high-quality videos and fun interactive activities.
How will I learn with Parlo?
You will have access to engaging content to help you learn in a fun way. We use a combination of short teaching videos, animated explanations, and simple practice exercises to help you learn.
There are three levels – Beginners, Elementary, and Intermediate. Each level has twenty-four episodes. Each episode is divided up into parts. Each part has activities in reading, listening, speaking, and spelling. You can watch the parts as many times as you want or feel you need. There is also a standalone practice section to practice more of what is in each episode and at the end of each episode, there is a quiz so that you can test yourself.
How does the app work?
After downloading Parlo, you can watch the first two episodes for free to get a taste of the app’s learning style.
Before watching the second episode, you will need to create an account with your personal information in the app. To access the third episode, you will need to enter your payment details to access the paid part of the app and continue your learning journey.
How do the episodes work?
Each week, we release two episodes. You must complete an episode to watch the next one. When, where, and how often you watch them is completely up to you!
The episodes last approximately 20 minutes with videos, practices, and exercises.
Can I watch an episode more than once?
You can watch an available episode as many times as you want.
Is there a minimum age requirement to use Parlo?
We have created Parlo for anyone who wants to learn how to speak and develop their confidence when using English. However, the content has not been designed for children. We recommend it for adults and older teenagers.
Does Parlo include a certificate?
When you have completed all seventy-two episodes, we will send you a certificate of completion.
Does Parlo offer a free trial?
The first two episodes are free! After Episode 1, you will need to set up an account to access the second episode. After Episode 2, you will need to add in payment details to access the rest of the course.
Can i ask for a refund?
You have seven days to cancel your subscription but there is no refund option available.
Does Parlo only offers British English?
Yes, we only teach British English.
Parlo is a British company and our studios are London-based. which is why we have created an app to learn British English only.
